(17) ... CHRIST "Being Formed" in Us

After we have asked JESUS to come into our lives and be our Lord and Saviour, it is easy for us to fall into the trap of thinking that now that we have the Spirit of Christ dwelling inside us that we are now in great shape. However, that is just the 1st step in our new life in Christ. From that point on the top priority of Christ is for Him to be formed in us  (i.e. molded in us).

We may have a strong desire to have a great ministry and to do what we perceive to be great and mighty things, but the Lord is much more concerned with Christ being formed in us which can only be accomplished by our yielding to the Spirit of Christ that dwells within us.

This doesn’t happen overnight, it is a continuing lifetime process, that is if we CONTINUE TO YIELD to His Spirit that dwells within us.

Speaking of great and mighty things that I referred to briefly in the above paragraph, I think that without any hesitation it can be safely stated that the Lord considers Christ being formed in us to be the greatest and mightiest thing that can happen to us.

Let us pray that we do not lose sight of what our main focus should be which is to allow Christ to be formed in us by YIELDING to His Spirit that wants to mold us into His image. When that begins to take place in our lives and continues, then fruit will be produced that will have lasting eternal results.

I would like to point out that a VITAL source that the Holy Spirit uses in helping to form Christ in us is through the Scriptures in the Bible (that is to those who have access to the Bible).

Christ can only be formed in us by our yielding to the Holy Spirit. If we neglect feeding upon Biblical truth, then we are clearly not yielding to the Holy Spirit. How can we then expect Christ to be formed in us?

It is Biblical truth that reveals God's ways and the Revelation of Christ to us. 1st Peter 2:2 - "like newborn babes, intensely crave the sincere milk of the Word, that you may grow" (i.e. Grow - means grow to maturity in our Salvation).

JESUS was so concerned about this that HE asked Peter 3 times if he loved Him. JESUS then told Peter that if he loved Him, "Feed my Sheep (i.e. -  Lead My sheep to my pasture to feed upon My Word from the Scriptures.)
