(50) ... The "Prosperity" Message

The New Testament "prosperity" message to the Believer In Christ is much  different than the "prosperity" message that is being taught by many in the Church today.

"If any man teaches that Godliness brings financial gain, from such withdraw yourself"....."For Godliness with contentment is great gain"....."And having food and clothing, let us be content"....."Let your way of life be without greatly desiring earthly possessions, and be content with what things you have: For God has said, I will never leave you or forsake you"....."You say to yourself, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing: Do you not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked"....."For the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful"....."There is he that makes himself rich, and yet has nothing: And there is he that makes himself poor, and yet has great riches"....."Labour not to be rich"....."Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth"....."Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal"....."While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
